Unlocking 2026: Top 4 Fashion Trends You Can't Miss! (2026)

As we look ahead to 2026, experts are predicting four major fashion trends that are set to shape the industry. This month, a select group of guests from Mytheresa, which included esteemed clients, influential content creators, VIPs, and members of the press, enjoyed a chilly December afternoon aboard the historic La Belle Époque train, journeying from Montreux to Gstaad. Upon reaching Gstaad, they checked into the luxurious Alpina Gstaad for an unforgettable day and evening filled with mountain experiences, including the opportunity to try on Moncler skiwear while hitting the slopes. This trip was organized to celebrate the strong partnership between Mytheresa and Moncler, coinciding with the exclusive launch of looks from the Moncler Grenoble Autumn/Winter 2025 collection. Among the distinguished guests was Tiffany Hsu, the chief buying officer at Mytheresa.

We had the chance to chat with Hsu about the key fashion trends anticipated for 2026. Here’s what she shared.

Investing in Fine Jewelry: A Lasting Choice

In a world of fleeting trends, Hsu emphasizes the importance of investing in fine jewelry that stands the test of time. "Our fine jewelry sector is experiencing impressive growth, currently seeing triple-digit increases, which indicates a robust interest among consumers," Hsu explains. She notes that this trend goes beyond mere passing fads, as searches for high-quality, timeless pieces are translating into significant demand. "Established brands and iconic designs are continuously performing well," she adds, highlighting the consistent growth of this category on Mytheresa, with no signs of slowing down as we move into 2026.

Embracing Casual Styles

The way we approach our wardrobes is evolving, with a noticeable shift towards more relaxed and casual styles. According to Hsu, "Things are becoming much more laid-back and casual." One of the key drivers behind this change is the resurgence of denim. Notably, Chanel kicked off their Métiers d’Art 2026 show in New York featuring denim, showcasing a model-off-duty vibe that is both stylish and relaxed. Designers like Khaite are also innovating by combining denim with tailored jackets and bold statement pieces, creating looks that are effortlessly chic rather than overly attention-grabbing. "It’s all about dressing down without losing sophistication," Hsu points out.

The Comeback of Straight and Skinny Jeans

While 2025 saw the rise of barrel leg jeans, what should we be looking to invest in for 2026? Hsu predicts that straight jeans will make a significant comeback. Fans of Y2K fashion will be excited to learn that low-rise skinny jeans are also returning to the scene, a style that once sparked considerable debate among fashion enthusiasts. Hsu emphasizes that proportion will be crucial this time around: "The skinny jeans need to hit just above the ankle, in a super long and super skinny fit."

A Focus on Body-Conscious Dressing

The new year is ushering in a reimagining of body-conscious fashion, with silhouettes designed to celebrate individual shapes. Hsu remarks, "Trends are becoming increasingly body-conscious, incorporating peplum designs and accentuating hip details." Statement jackets remain popular, while rich textures such as plush and fluffy fabrics add an element of understated drama to outfits. "These pieces make a statement quietly, with less emphasis on logos," she explains. As we venture into 2026, expect texture, shape, and craftsmanship to take center stage in fashion discussions.
