Bold headline: Brennan Prepares to Defend Bonanza Crown — A Comeback Story Worth Watching
Miscellaneous
TOM Brennan is set to defend his Ben Fund Bonanza title when the event returns to his former home track, Glasgow, on Saturday, March 28.
Brennan captured the crown at the last Bonanza held at Oxford in 2025, and he also secured a third-place finish two years prior, cementing his status as one of the most successful regulars in recent Bonanza history.
He’s ready to resume racing this season after recovering from leg injuries sustained during a practice session last October in Industry, California. Those injuries occurred outside the Bon Fund’s domain, but Brennan remains deeply committed to the event.
Brennan commented: “This is a race for British riders, and when we compete in the UK or represent Great Britain, the support we receive is a huge comfort. That’s exactly why I continue to take part in the Ben Fund Bonanza — it’s a worthy cause.
“I suffered a fracture to my tibia and fibula in my left leg. The recovery is progressing well, and I’ve been fortunate to work with a fantastic team helping me along the way. While the pace of recovery is gradual, I’m steadily getting back into training and related activities.
“Our aim is to advance cautiously but stay strong and ready for the season’s start. I’m hopeful we’ll be in peak shape when the year kicks off.”
